INGREDIENTS

Q: What kind of wicks do you use?

A: We ONLY use cotton wicks in our candles. You won't find ANY lead or chemicals in our wicks! Why? Because wicks with lead and chemicals release those things into the air when burned, and then they can be inhaled!! Many larger candle companies use lead in their wicks to help them stand up straighter and burn longer. But we have curated the perfect wax blend that burns longer and cleaner anyway, so we don't need those gross lead wicks to have a great candle!

Q: What kind of fragrance oil do you use?

A: We use a mix of essential oils and synthetic, man made fragrance oils. That being said, we only source from the BEST suppliers! All of our oils are free from carcinogens and toxins, and they are also phthalate free! We only provide the cleanest and best for our customers!

OTHER

Q: Do you pour your candles or do you outsource them?

A: We do EVERYTHING in-house! We wick every jar, design and apply every label, pour every candle, and package every order at our studio in New Mexico. There is NO outsourcing here! This helps us maintain EXCELLENT quality for you!

Q: Will your candles fill up my space with fragrance?

A: We curated our products specifically to elevate your space, not overpower it - we want to help you create your desired ambiance without giving you or your guests a headache! With that being said, our products have a fantastic scent throw without being blatantly strong.

Still, filling your space with fragrance depends on the size of the space and the diameter of your jar. Additionally, everyone has a different preference for how strong they want their candle to smell.

If you like a stronger scent from your candles, we suggest using our products in smaller contained spaces such as bedrooms and bathrooms. Keeping them away from any drafts, vents or open windows will maximize their scent throw.

Our candles will fill larger rooms such as living rooms and open floor plans with a more subtle scent. It all depends on your preference.

Q: Can my candle soot?

A: It is entirely possible that your candle will produce soot - but hear me out! The ONLY completely soot free flame is a natural gas flame. Just like wood burning fireplaces, candle flames have incomplete combustion which produces soot. This is natural, but the good news is, it is NOT the toxic black petro carbon soot that is found in petroleum based (paraffin) candles! If our candle does soot, it's completely harmless and can be wiped right off with a paper towel.

Q: Why does my candle have a slight yellow tint to it?

A: We pride ourselves in keeping our candles as pure as possible, and that means we don't include any additives, including whitening powder! We also pride ourselves in going straight to the source (essential oils) for as many scents as we can. Some of our more naturally scented candles (like Citrus Agave) have a higher concentration of essential oils in them, because we wanted to use the most pure form of their scents. But essential oils tend to have a yellow or orange tint to them (especially citrus ones since they come directly from oranges and lemons!) This is why some of our scents may have a slight yellow tint.

Q: How can I ensure a long life for my candle?

A: TRIM YOUR WICKS! Before every burn, trim off the mushrooming part of your wick with trimmers or scissors. Just don't trim it TOO short - only what is needed!

IF YOUR WICK IS TRIMMED TOO SHORT:

it will cause low scent throw, a low flame, and EXTREMELY slow burning. But don't worry! If you did trim it too short, just light the candle and once the wax begins to melt, you can dump out the melted wax. Then your wick will be more exposed! Good as new!
